Locust Culling, Senegal
The Diplomat team received an urgent call for assistance with the culling of a devastating Locust plague in West Africa. Within 3 weeks of the call, the team had set up an operating base with fuel farm in a remote location in Senegal and had sourced 6 fixed wing spraying aircraft. Diplomat ran a fully project managed turn-key operation, liaising with local experts and USAID to tailor the flying plan to best target the locusts.
Diplomat also arranged 24 hour Aircraft and equipment support with rapid movement of spare parts from UK / Europe to West Africa. Wide body cargo aircraft were regularly chartered to supply the project with insecticide as well as regular land deliveries of Jet fuel to support the flying operation with accurate and regular reporting of air operations to the customer throughout the project.
